As a soldier, I know firsthand that honor and integrity are what make our military strong. Which is why I’m so sickened by the fact that, last year alone, the DoD reported roughly 26,000 cases of rape, sexual assault and unwanted sexual contact in our military.
Right now, we’re failing our service members on a terrifying scale. Enough is enough.
Join my colleagues and me in demanding we protect our service men and women by supporting the Military Justice Improvement Act. This vital legislation is expected to come up in the Senate this week - and it will be one important step toward protecting our nation’s bravest.
We can’t wait any longer: one assault is too many and 26,000 are a travesty. We have a responsibility to end this now, and the Military Justice Improvement Act will put us on the path to do just that.
It’s time to let the men and women who defend our country know that we stand with them. It’s time to put an end to this tragedy.
Mahalo for standing with me on such an important issue.
